Even though a lot of men want to add a certain amount of muscle mass on their bodies, they still need to work on their cardiorespiratory component. This is not only great for the cardiovascular system, but it can also help with improving the good cholesterol in the body (HDL). If you do not like to do cardiorespiratory exercise, my suggestion is to get it out before you do any weight lifting. Before you start to lift, eat something small and low on the glycemic index to refuel so you can start the resistance component of your workout. I would also recommend having a small snack on hand just in case you start to get sluggish or when your energy reserves are running low.
Lastly, the cardiorespiratory component will also help in reducing the percentage of fat in your body.
